Benjamin Krieg

Benjamin Krieg, born in 1977, is a freelance video and film artist and photographer who collaborates on various projects in the performing and visual arts. He designs and creates video, photographic and sound installations for theatres, performance and other spaces. He often works closely with other artists, researchers and experts.

From 2006 to 2010, he was a member of the independent music theatre collective “Oper Dynamo West” in Berlin. Since 2010, he has regularly collaborated with the performance collective “She She Pop”, touring with them throughout Europe, South America and Asia. He has collaborated with Thomas Ostermeier, Yael Ronen and Hakan Savaş Mican on projects at the Schaubühne, the Gorki Theater and the Ballhaus Naunynstrasse in Berlin. In recent years, he has regularly worked with theatre director and author Amir Reza Koohestani and video artist Phillip Hohenwarter at the Münchner Kammerspiele, the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Thalia Theater Hamburg and the Theater Freiburg. Most recently, he worked on the independent international production “Blind Runner”, which was shown at the “Under the Radar” festival in New York and the Venice Biennale, among others. He has also partnered with theatre and film director Adrian Figueroa on several productions, at venues such as the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, and the Münchner Volkstheater

DER SANDMANN marks his sixth collaboration with Adrian Figueroa and his debut at the Schauspielhaus Zürich.
